A great amount of information and thought goes into the writing of a resume. Firstly, though, it is vital that applicants understand the importance of a well written resume. A well written resume will get a call for a job interview. This is its primary purpose. A resume is a reflection of the applicant. Therefore, it is essential that all applicants know the basics of how to resume writing.

A Professional Resume is a must

To get the job, you need to impress the recruiters with your personality and capabilities. To present your charisma and personality, you need to be selected for an interview and to be selected for the interview, you need to submit an outstanding resume. Most applicants are under the false impression that simply including experience, qualifications and personal details will get them the interview. Every applicant will do this and there will be nothing special in your resume if you do the same. Keep in mind that you will be among the hundreds of applicants applying for the same position. Furthermore, recruiters will spend less than 2 minutes on scanning for impressive resumes. The ones that catch their attention will receive a further 5 -10 minutes, depending on the position that you are applying for. Therefore, in order to ensure their attention, you need to be able to create an outstanding, professional resume.

How to Create a Professional Resume

When it comes to how to resume writing, applicants should understand that resume writing cannot be mastered in a span of a few weeks. Most qualified resume writers, require at least five years of experience. However, it is worth giving it a try. After all, this is your career and your future.
•	A resume should not exceed two pages. Therefore, applicants need to ensure that the entries are short, simple and easy to read. It is recommended that applicants use less than twelve words per sentence. Keep in mind that the recruiters will not spend more than a minute on your resume.
•	Provide evidence of your performance achievements. This helps to get the recruiter’s attention.
•	Avoid salary information in the resume.
•	A well written cover letter is a desired document among many recruiters. Therefore, whenever possible, create an effective cover letter to go with the resume.
•	Use white, A4 paper for your resume. Never use funky colours and fonts. This is a professional job you are seeking. You need to show the recruiter that you can be taken seriously. Coloured paper and font is for high school students.
•	Always include the resume objective or the career profile section in the 1st part, highlighted with plenty of white space and concise sentences.
•	Include details in chronological order whenever possible.
•	Personal references should be in a different paper. It should be typed in the same font and format as the rest of the resume.

Getting Help is Always an Option

If you are unsure of your capabilities of how to resume writing, obtaining professional resume writing assistance is an option to consider. There are many online resume writing services that offer help to applicants who need it. A reputed resume writing service will provide the necessary assistance in order for applicants to submit outstanding resumes.

If you require high quality resumes, grandresume.com is a company that can be counted on to assist you.
Accountants make the world go round. They provide vital services for every business in the world, are responsible for locating errors and often, they are responsible for uncovering illegal activities. Still, those in this field can’t imagine doing anything else, regardless of the sometimes heavy burden they bear. Whether you’re a recent graduate or are looking for a new challenge, it may be time for a new job. An accountant sample resume can provide insight into what employers are looking for in terms of work histories, education and skills.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics predict a “much faster than average employment growth”. They credit new financial regulations and laws, closer scrutiny of a business’s finances and the overall expected growth in the number of businesses as reasons for this increasing need for qualified and educated accountants. New computer technology will demand a new breed of accountants who can combine technological advances with the traditional accounting laws and procedures.

One exciting new accounting specialty is that of forensic accounting. With so many financial scandals in recent news, those who are qualified in thorough investigations with the ability to recognize irregularities and possible, illegal activities will continue to be in big demand. Considered white collar crimes, these accountants also engage in contract disputes and criminal financial transactions such as money laundering and bankruptcies. They often work with investigators from various law agencies and will likely be called upon to testify from time to time in a court of law. It requires a certain dedication and attention to detail.

Those most successful will also continue their educations with advanced courses that allow promotions and new opportunities as this field continues to expand.

It’s a fast paced specialty, but one that is both challenging and rewarding. It’s also one more incentive to update a resume. Again, one place to start is with a sample of an accountant resume. It’s one of many ways to bring yourself current with the latest trends in terms of what employers are looking for. Whether you’re composing a new resume or just updating your experience, ensuring it is current is crucial if you’re to redefine your career goals.

Accounting is a challenging career, but the opportunities for advancement are endless for those wishing to redefine their parameters. As we bring in a new decade, it can also symbolize a new energy towards one’s dedication to his line of work.

Why Fashion Trends are Similar to Resume Writing Trends.

There’s no denying the importance of proper grooming and a great looking power suit during an interview; they go hand in hand. But are there similarities between fashion trends and resume writing trends? You might be surprised to learn most career coaches say, “Absolutely!” It’s all about confidence in both your appearance and what your resume tells a potential employer about the well dressed candidate in front of him. And guess what? There are trends in proper resume etiquette, too.

Strange as it may sound, there are psychological reasons in linking fashion and our careers. It all comes back to our need to present the image of an organized, efficient and likeable candidate. After all, we don’t spend two hours meticulously applying make up or shining our shoes unless there’s good reason. Those reasons, generally speaking, are our wedding day and interview day – and don’t let the irony get lost in that declaration.

So what do resumes and fashion have in common? Consider these parallels:

Just as you want reassurances from the neighborhood dry cleaner that your lucky suit will be ready for the big interview, you go through the same process with your resume writing. You want reassurances from others that it’s error-free, well organized and contains everything it should.

A crisp linen suit in good taste is to modern day as the polyester suit was in the 1970s. Same theory applies to your resume – today’s resumes are focused, streamlined and don’t contain information such as a social security number or even the high school you graduated from. Not too many years ago, that was standard on the professional resume – along with our fraternities and sororities.

Less is more – Today’s contemporary resume is generally a single page that contains everything an employer will want to know; there are those instances, however, that two pages are acceptable. Again, the proper dress etiquette for interview day is a nice suit that fits well, isn’t bulky and presents a uniform and well dressed candidate. Less jewelry and please – less cologne. A survey some years ago revealed many interviewers confessing to redlining a perfectly suitable candidate because his or her cologne overwhelmed him during the interview.

It really is all about the attention to detail. Leave the flash for the weekend; for that Monday morning interview, both you and your professional resume should be consistent and conservative.

In this case, you need to know how to write a resume so you can easily build a document that could lead to you having a career. With the availability of resources in resume writing, it is much easier to write your file and create them with great quality features. Let me give you some information on what to include in your resume.

- The first block of information that your resume should include is the block related to your personal profile. This should include your name, address and contact details. Usually, it is written at the upper portion of the resume page.

- The objective sentence is a crucial part of any cover letters and resumes. It involves presenting the core goal of the applicant as to why he is applying for a job position.

- The work experiences block is also a portion of the resume where all your experiences in working are indicated. You can provide information about your previous work position as well as the company you have worked for. If you are a first time job seeker, you can proceed writing the education background.

- The last block should contain your education background. If you have a degree in college, then you have higher chances of getting a better job. Always keep in mind that the information in the education section should balance with the work experience section.

First, include your work experiences. You may first list down all your previous job positions help either part time or full time. You may also include everything that is paid or unpaid depending on your eagerness to expose these details.

Your education background details are also crucial. You may include all your achievements in school, where you have graduated and some important positions that you have undertaken.

When you are going to write the skills section, reflect on what skills and abilities will most likely match the job position you are targeting. This will help the employer maintain a solid decision to hire you since your profile details will match the requirements of the job post.

Other than these details, include also some more skills that may not match to the position being offered but will help the employer gain more insights on what else you can do and contribute to the company in the long run.

The Key to Creating Resume Objectives

Your resume career objective could be the key to whether or not you get the job to which you are applying. This objective is one of your first chances to tell your potential employer what you want in life, where you plan to go in terms of your jobs, your skills, and your qualifications. Most importantly, it will let him or her know precisely what you think you can bring to the position which you are trying to fill.

The most important thing to remember when you are applying for a job – and, indeed, when you are writing your resume and tailoring it for that job – is that you are competing with every other applicant who applies for that position. At this point, several things become extremely crucial. First of all, it is absolutely imperative that you know the difference between a CV and a resume. There is a limit on how long a resume should run. It should never be longer than one to two pages. Usually that second page will only contain a few lines anyway. If it runs on too long, the hiring manager could just cast it aside without paying all that much attention to it.

Once you understand that difference, you also need to know how to write a resume. Of course this means knowing how to set up all the details about your employment and educational history, as well as any special skills and relevant qualifications. In short, you want to say as much as you can while actually writing as little as possible. Above all however, it is absolutely imperative that you know how to craft the kind of resume career objective that will actually catch the hiring manager’s eye and hold his or her interest.

Since we have established that you are in a competition, it is the objective of all the job seekers applying to a job to present themselves in the best light possible. You want to outshine your competition. Your career objective can help you do that. When written correctly and thoughtfully, it can really get you noticed. The one thing to remember is that your resume career objective needs to be as precise and concise as possible. Do not run on and on forever. These can be tailored to the specific job to which you are applying. If you do not think one of your objectives will help you get the job, simply leave it out.

The most important thing your objective can do is prove that you have given a lot of thought about your career and where you want it to go in the future. That can show potential employers that you are a serious contender. It can be hard to get this across, however, since your objective does need to be rather small. However, you can teach yourself the art of putting forth a lot of information using very little words. You simply want to outline your career goals.

A career resume objective is an essential part of the resume writing process. It may take practice to get it right. However, once you do, you have the opportunity to seriously impress your future employer.

Learning how to write a CV, a good one, is absolutely imperative. These days, if you want to get a dream job, you absolutely have to have an excellent CV to go along with your resume. But how can you do that, especially if you are not experienced with writing one? Actually, it is incredibly easy – especially if you adhere to the following tips.

The first step in learning to write a CV is understanding the difference between a CV and a resume. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking they are exactly the same, but that is not at all true. Succinctly, the difference lies in length. Your curriculum vitae can be significantly longer, in the scheme of things, than your resume. The latter should never exceed more than two pages; generally, one and a half pages are idea. However, with your CV, you get to include all those important little details which can mean the difference between missing out on an interview and getting called back for one.

Knowing how to write a resume properly can really help you when it comes time to write a CV. You see, at the most basic point, the information you put on each document is pretty much the same. It is just the way you write that is different. You see, resumes are generally in list form, whereas, with a CV, you get to summarize all of your professional skills and past experiences. That includes things you may have done in high school and college which could help you fulfill the duties of a particular position. Basically, what a potential employer wants to see on your curriculum vitae is proof that you have the necessary skills for the position to which you are applying, as well as any complementary skills.

In preparing your CV – and your resume, for that matter – you first need to put together a list of the jobs you have had in the past, including the dates of your employment. Following that, you need to put together a list of all the qualifications you have garnered over the years. After that, you need to put together a list of pertinent interests and hobbies. This will make it much easier for you to match skills and hobbies with individual positions. Mind, even playing sports or being in the marching band in high school in college can teach you excellent teamwork skills and instill a respect for deadlines.

One of the most important things you need to remember when you sit down to write a CV is that you should never, ever lie. This is important. No matter how tempting it may be, do not put false information on your CV or your resume. That being said, it is okay to exaggerate a little bit. However, telling outright lies can lead to any number of uncomfortable situations. Hey, Robert Irvine just got fired from the Food Network for telling lies about his skills – if it can happen to a “celebrity,” it can happen to you as well.

With the economy still struggling and the unemployment rate distressingly high, there are a lot of job seekers out there right now. In particular, students are graduating with bachelor’s and master’s degrees, only to find that they cannot get hired anywhere. It is not at all atypical to go for months and months waiting to hear back from someone, even if you have filled out fifty, sixty, seventy applications and put your resume out there wherever you possibly can. All of this can be disheartening to even the strongest person. After a while, we start feeling completely Unemployable – capital “U” necessary, of course – and start thinking about getting the word tattooed onto our foreheads, just so we do not forget. Before you decide on something so permanent, though, check out a few of these tips. No matter what kind of job you are looking for, they are guaranteed to help you succeed.

The first thing all job seekers need to do is consider their interests. Sometimes, especially when you are just starting out and do not have a lot of work experience, you will have to broaden your horizons away from your major. For instance, if you are interested in literature, you can think about becoming a tutor, a copy writer, you can think about writing articles, you can even think about simply working in a bookstore. Trust that, in all of those cases, when potential employers see “Literature major” or “English major” listed on your resume, cover letter, and curriculum vitae, they will definitely be interested. If you are interested in science or medicine, working in a pharmacy or a pharmaceutical company is also a possible choice. If you have peripheral interests which are in some way related to your chosen field of study, you can look into appropriate job opportunities in those areas as well. And, of course, if there is something you are interested in even though it is not related to your major – go for it. Beggars cannot be choosers after all, and when you can do something that interests you, well, you are already ahead of the game.

Job seekers always need to keep their resume updated as well, even if it is just a rough, sketched in template. That way, it will always be at the ready when a new job opportunity comes up; all you have to do is fill in the specific details. If you do not know how to write a resume – learn! It is really not that hard, and there are plenty of tutorials available out there to help you craft a great one. Insofar as that goes, getting your name out there never hurts either. Create a personal web site. Whenever possible, include your portfolio on there. As well, you should never underestimate the value of social and professional networking sites. More and more employers and companies are even turning to MySpace. Having a page there, and on such places as LinkedIn, Facebook, and JobFox can be more helpful than you might think. You can also get some great connections there.

You also need to remember how important a cover letter is. In particular, you need to target both your cover letter and your CV – and your resume, for that matter – to the individual positions to which you are applying. For instance, if you have done some volunteer work which garnered experience that would be beneficial in a particular position, make sure you let your prospective employer know that.

Most importantly, as hard as it may be, job seekers need to learn patience – and never, ever be too hard on yourselves. Stressing yourself out is just going to make the whole process worse, plus you will lose confidence in yourself. Self confidence and self worth are just as important as an excellent CV, cover letter, and resume. You have to let these employers know that you truly believe you are the best person for the job.

Knowing how to write a resume is a crucial and invaluable skill to have. More importantly, however, you need to know how to make a resume that is both factual, beneficial to you, and has the “wow” factor needed to guarantee that you will grab any potential employer’s decision. Nowadays, a lot of people lack that skill, not because they are lacking in any way but simply because they have not mastered it.

Recent college graduates in particular can greatly benefit from learning how to write a resume. More and more students are focusing on their educations rather than simultaneously working. Speaking as a student who went that route, your humble author can attest to the fact that graduating and then finding that you have know idea how to write a really fantastic resume can be problematic. Going any length of time without having a job, or having gaps in your employment history, can also make the whole process overwhelming. Getting a job these days, in any number of fields, can be a classic case of Catch-22: potential employers will not hire you if you do not have sufficient work experience – but they will not hire you so that you can get that experience, leaving you to wonder how on earth you are every going to gain any experience if no employers will give you a break and a chance. It just so happens that there are a few great resume tips which can help you get around that.

The first step in learning how to write a resume is to make a list detailing all of your accomplishments. Understand, however, that you may have to pare this down. Your CV is where the details can go; a resume needs to be significantly shorter. Still, you can and should include any jobs, awards, degrees, skills, or personal projects, especially those that show you will be ideal for any particular position to which you are applying. Which brings us to the second thing you need to do, which is tailor that list to the individual jobs you are trying to get. Relevance is key here, so choose very carefully. You also need to think very carefully about your objective for each individual position.

When you get to the point where you will be listing your past work experience, stop and think. Are there gaps in your employment history? Just be up front about them; be honest about why they occurred. You can mention this briefly in your resume – or in more detail, depending on what kind of resume format you use. Otherwise, you can explain yourself more in your CV. Keep in mind that no matter what format that may be – functional, chronological, et cetera – it should not be more than two pages.

Looking at appropriate examples is the best way to learn how to write a resume. That way, you get a clearer picture concerning what goes where. Furthermore, it can really help to see firsthand how you can best manage to be concise, while still making yourself shine for prospective employers. Remember, when you have a fantastic resume, an excellent CV, and a high quality cover letter, you are going to catch the employer’s attention and keep it, making it much easier to get called back for an interview.
