Resume Styles
When we talk about resume styles, we are referring to the visual aspect of the document. Sometimes, we also need to make sure that the overall appeal of the resume is presentable not only the visual factor. So how do we improve a professional resume based solely on improving the style of the document?
A resume is the single most important document that you need in applying for a job you may submit it personally or send it through e-mail. But no matter what the preferred channel may be, the resume style is an important aspect to attract the employer to take a look at it. The first thing that you need to consider is the content style. Usually, a job seeker will simply put the profile details, objective sentence, work experience and education background. Add to that the skills and competencies part. Second, the resume style should reflect an easy to read characteristic. Do not use any fonts or letter styles that are distracting. Third, the layout of the contents should be well managed. The layout is the arrangement of the information in the paper. Make sure that you provide enough white spaces to let the reader identify the divisions of parts. Lastly the resume style should also encompass the total appeal of the resume. In our cover letter and resumes, do not use fancy colored papers. Make sure to use only white paper for optimum professionalism.
