Functional Resume
One of the most important things to consider in writing a resume for the first time is to know what type of document you should write. If you are a newly graduate student with no career experiences, then a functional resume is appropriate for you. What is a functional resume? This resume is ideal if you want to highlight your skills and competencies to specify what job type you will excel in. A functional resume is best utilized when there is a situation to highlight your specific abilities, skills and competencies that you have gained through your personal experience and education. Remember, you do not have any work experiences yet. A functional resume is also a good resume if you want to completely shift to another career domain or industry. However, do not use this type of resume if you are applying for a job position in a government or private institution which offers traditional jobs.
Just like any other resumes, a functional resume will contain these parameters:
Your personal information
Your objective
Professional experience
(An optional work experience detail)
Affiliations
Education backgrounds
Awards and Accomplishments
