Effective Resumes – How do we write them?
A resume has only one purpose in the life of a job seeker, to become the platform to advertise what he can provide to the employer and sell his skills through the use of the document. An effective resume is therefore very important in order for you to get the job that you want. In this case, let me give you some characteristics of an effective resume that could land you a job sooner.
- An effective resume is something that is complete. Make sure that you have all the necessary details about your profile and contact details, objective in applying for the position, work experiences that you had before, education background and the skills and competencies that you can render.
- It is also important that your resume has a format that can easily attract the employer visually. Many resumes fail to entice employers to read them because of the relatively cluttered or bad layout of the resume entries.
- Use fonts, text size and styles that are easy to the eyes. Avoid using special images and characters in your resume as these may imply that you are not serious about your application, unless you are applying for an art career.
- It may help if you will include a cover letter in your resume. This way, you can easily manage to impart your personal agenda through a more personalized discussion of your capabilities.
- Make sure that your resume has accurate and truthful contents. Do not exaggerate our qualifications or put something that cannot be supported factually. An effective resume is something that is honest and sincere.
