Now, that may not look like the best cover letter; it may, in fact, look like a lot of gibberish — but trust, it is not. However, this formula is essential in knowing how to write a cover letter — plus, it is easy to clear up:

a. This is where you put the name of the actual person to whom the letter is addressed.
b. Your present role (if student) or job (if professional).
c. Your current position.
d. List of your skills, experiences, accomplishments, et cetera, as they apply to the position.
e. Description of the position to which you are applying; should be positive.
f. The things you can bring to the position; list between one and three.
g. Name of the company.
h. Name of the position to which you are applying.
i. Further list of primary skills and how they will helpful to the job; be specific but only list two or three.
j. You email address and phone number.
k. Sign your name.
l. Print your name.
